Helping Reactive and Aggressive Dogs Be Safe By Feeling Safe

Aggression and reactivity are most often based in fear. The way to build confidence and feelings of safety in your dog isn’t to punish them, enforce arbitrary rules or impose human concepts like leadership - it’s by addressing the underlying emotion, showing your dog that you will protect them, and building two-way communication where we respond to their needs just as much as we ask them to respond to our cues.

Even the most ‘aggressive’ dogs can be taught with compassionate, welfare-driven, and evidence-backed methods. Whether you’re dealing with intra-household aggression, resource guarding, stranger danger, handling sensitivities, or reactivity out on walks, we can work together to create a safer environment for you and your dog and build a relationship based on safety, trust, and empathy.

1:1 Intensive Training

This is a training program tailored entirely to you and your dog. We will begin with an initial consultation, where we will review your dog’s history, behaviour, environment, health and wellness, routines, and anything else that might be contributing to the problems you’re facing. Based on that consultation, I will create a training program and package just for you; that will include not just skills to practice, but also helping to ensure that your dog’s physical and behavioural needs are being met, that any potential health concerns are being investigated appropriately, and that you have the knowledge and confidence to tackle issues even when things don’t go to plan.

This training can be done either virtually or in-person if you are in North Lincolnshire, but all initial consultations are conducted via Zoom.

Group Classes

Looking for a way to have safe, carefully structured practice while you help your dog through reactivity?

Our Reactive Dogs Class takes the stress of learning something new out of the class environment - instructions are given out ahead of time via written and video guides, to be practiced within the comfort of your home. Every week, we will apply and practice the instruction in a controlled class environment with trainer guidance and feedback.

Our goal is not to ‘fix’ your dog in six weeks, but to give you the skills and knowledge you need for daily life with your dog - and opportunity to safely practice them.

Next Course Starts Saturday, October 4 at 12:15pm
